Sayadaw U Jotika explains why he decided to open The College of Global Peace:
– “Two years ago, I told Dr. Ukumarabhivamsa(Chairman of Sangha Mahanayaka Committee) and Dr. Nandamalabhivamsa (Rector. International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University) that I wanted to establish The University of Global Peace in Yankin Hill.
Both the two great teachers replied to me that before opening the University of Global Peace, I should open a College prior to a University opening.
At that time, I accepted this advice saying, “Yes, Bhante I will do so.”
Last year, on 6th September, 2014, The first foundations for The University of Global Peace were laid down. It is hoped that the University will be opened in 2016.
Therefore, I have now opened the College of Global Peace as part of the progress of opening the University.”-
